Hello and welcome to our class page!

My name is Miss Dawson, and I am delighted to be your child's Year 1 teacher. Working alongside me is our fantastic teaching assistant, Mrs Newton. Together, we are looking forward to supporting your child throughout an exciting year of learning, discovery and achievement.

Year 1 is a wonderful year full of new experiences, growing independence and memorable learning opportunities. Our curriculum is brought to life through a range of inspirational characters who help immerse children in their learning and make each topic engaging and meaningful.

In our classroom, children learn in a variety of ways. We work in focused groups, complete independent activities and apply our new knowledge and skills through our continuous provision areas. We encourage children to work collaboratively, show kindness and develop confidence as they support one another's learning.

Reading is at the heart of everything we do. We love sharing stories from favourite authors such as Jill Murphy and Julia Donaldson, whilst also introducing children to exciting new books and authors throughout the year. Our aim is to foster a love of reading that will stay with children for years to come.

Thank you for visiting our class page. We look forward to sharing our learning journey with you. Please keep an eye on Class Dojo for regular updates, photographs and celebrations of all the wonderful things happening in Year 1E.
