Hello and welcome to Class 3/4P's page!

A very warm welcome to all of our children and families. We are delighted to have you as part of our 3/4P community and look forward to sharing a year filled with learning, laughter and memorable experiences.

I am Miss Mears and our Teaching Assistant is Miss Unsworth, and we are delighted to be part of such a thoughtful, curious and creative class. We strive to create a warm, nurturing and inspiring environment where every child feels happy, valued and ready to learn.

In Year 3/4, we spend the year exploring the lives of three influential figures from history. We have already made a fantastic start by stepping into the world of Claudius and learning all about the Romans. Later in the year, we will travel back to Ancient Egypt to discover the life of Cleopatra and uncover the mysteries of Egyptian civilisation. We will then move on to learn about Dr Barnardo and life in Victorian Britain. The children have already shown so much enthusiasm and curiosity, and we cannot wait to see where their learning takes them next.

Throughout these topics, the children produce work that they should be genuinely proud of. They approach their learning with enthusiasm, imagination and determination, and it is wonderful to watch their confidence and knowledge grow. We love celebrating their achievements and sharing some of the fantastic learning that takes place in our classroom.

In 3/4P, relationships are at the heart of everything we do. We encourage children to ask questions, share their ideas and learn from one another. Our aim is for every child to feel safe, respected and confident to be themselves.

We love sharing stories, exploring exciting new texts and discovering fascinating facts together. Through reading, children develop their imagination, build their vocabulary and deepen their understanding of the world around them. There is nothing better than seeing children excitedly recommend a book to a friend or become completely absorbed in a story they cannot wait to return to.
