Class 5/6E

Hello!

Welcome to our Year 5/6E class page! I am Miss Lockett, and I am so excited to be teaching your child this year. I am very lucky to be supported by Mrs McDermott, our wonderful teaching assistant, who is an important part of our classroom team.

We have already had such a fantastic start to the year, and I feel very lucky to be part of such a wonderful class. We have so much fun together in 5/6E and are always laughing, learning and making memories along the way. It has been lovely to see the children settle into their new class and grow in confidence as we have worked together.

We have loved immersing ourselves in our World War One topic, exploring what life was like during this fascinating period of history. We have particularly enjoyed working together, asking questions and developing our understanding of the past. We are now very excited to continue our historical journey as we begin learning about World War Two!

We have also been getting stuck into our STEM project focusing on malnutrition in the elderly. The children have really enjoyed working collaboratively, thinking creatively and using their problem-solving skills to explore this important real-world issue. I am so proud of the enthusiasm and curiosity they have shown so far. They are asking such amazing questions!

This year is a very important one for our Year 5/6 children, and I am looking forward to supporting them as they continue to learn, grow and prepare for their next steps. I know we are going to have a brilliant year together, filled with lots of exciting learning, new experiences and plenty of laughter!

Please keep checking our Class Dojo page, where we love to share photographs and celebrate the wonderful learning taking place in our classroom. If you would like to speak to me about your child, please don't hesitate to catch me at the end of the school day or send me a message via Class Dojo.

I am really looking forward to working with you and your child throughout the year, learning as much as we can and making lots of fantastic memories together in 5/6E!
